Kitten Reservation Deposit Form

Conditions of Sale

Our kittens can leave the cattery not earlier than 12 weeks of age. But you must fully pay for and pick up your kitten(s) no later than 16 weeks of age.

All our kittens will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before shipping/pick up. All expenses for the procedures are included in the total sale price.

Kittens' litter will be registered with the TICA (The International Cat Association). We will provide you all registration papers. We do not guarantee eye color shade, coat color shade, size, weight, or personality of our kittens/cats.

We reserve the right to refuse the sale of a kitten at any time.

The deposit is non-refundable, however, if a kitten isn’t available for some reason on our part, we will transfer the deposit to another kitten or refund the deposit.

You Agree to the Following

You will not, under any circumstances, lease the kitten/cat to any animal shelter, research facility, laboratory, pet store, or other commercial or noncommercial enterprise. In the event that you can no longer keep the kitten/cat, the cattery must be contacted immediately as a first option to assist in the placement of the animal and we agree to accept the kitten/cat back without an obligation to refund the purchase price.

Behavioral and Stress-Related Health Disclaimer

The Buyer understands that a kitten’s behavior and stress-related health after transfer may be influenced by numerous factors outside the Breeder’s control. Separation from the familiar environment, littermates, and caretakers; exposure to new voices, smells, and surroundings; changes in water source, food brand, or feeding schedule; introduction to other pets; and overall adjustment to a new household can all trigger stress and anxiety in a kitten.

Such responses may include, but are not limited to:

  • Excessive drooling or panting
  • Hiding or avoidance of interaction
  • Refusal of food or water for short periods
  • Increased vocalization
  • Inappropriate elimination (urinating or defecating outside the litter box)
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Scratching or destructive behaviors
  • Clinginess, restlessness, or hyperactivity
  • Development of feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC) — an inflammation without bacterial infection. Symptoms may include frequent or painful urination, straining in the litter box, or presence of blood in the urine.

The Buyer acknowledges that these issues occur rarely and that the vast majority of kittens from Cataristocrat Cattery transition smoothly without significant problems. However, it is possible that such a reaction may occur with their individual kitten. The conditions listed above reflect the isolated cases observed by the Breeder over more than 15 years of breeding experience.

These are individual reactions that the Breeder cannot predict, prevent, or be held responsible for. The Buyer accepts this risk as part of pet ownership and agrees to assume full responsibility for the kitten’s behavioral development and adjustment. The Buyer is welcome to seek the Breeder’s advice and guidance, but under no circumstances shall the Breeder be blamed or held liable for any behavioral or stress-related outcomes.

Health Guarantee

The Breeder guarantees, to the best of our knowledge, that the kitten/cat is healthy at the time of sale, Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) negative, and free from life-threatening illnesses, infections, internal and external parasites. This guarantee is valid for seventy-two (72) hours from the time of transfer/shipping. During this period, the kitten/cat must not be exposed to other animals, as such exposure will void this guarantee.

The Purchaser must take the kitten/cat to a licensed veterinarian within this 72-hour period, at the Purchaser’s expense. If the veterinarian finds any condition indicating poor health that was present prior to sale, they must provide a signed statement on official letterhead. In such case, the kitten/cat may be returned within seven (7) days for either (a) a full refund, or (b) exchange for a kitten of similar or better quality, if available. The Purchaser will be responsible for all shipping costs.

The Breeder guarantees that the kitten has been examined by a licensed veterinarian on no fewer than four (4) separate occasions while in the cattery, including visits for vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery. At each visit, a full wellness examination was performed, and at the most recent visit, the kitten was found to be healthy, with no abnormalities or signs of illness detected, and deemed fit for transfer.

The Breeder guarantees that all breeding cats introduced into the program are screened for genetic diseases and for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). No known inheritable disorders are present in the breeding lines. All breeding cats undergo annual veterinary wellness exams, receive timely vaccinations, parasite control, and routine veterinary care.

The cattery is a USDA-licensed facility, meeting federal standards for animal care, housing, cleanliness, and general welfare.

The Breeder guarantees against the death of the kitten/cat due to genetic or congenital defects for one (1) year from the date of purchase (FeLV, FIV, and FIP are not genetic and are specifically excluded). In the event of the death of this kitten/cat due to genetic abnormalities, the Purchaser must provide the Breeder with a necropsy report prepared by a licensed impartial Veterinary Pathologist at the Purchaser’s expense, confirming that the cause of death was unquestionably genetic or congenital in nature. If so confirmed, the Breeder will replace the kitten/cat with one of equal quality (if available) or refund the purchase price.

After the seventy-two (72) hour guarantee period, and except for the specific coverage provided for genetic or congenital defects, the Breeder makes no further health guarantees. Once the kitten leaves the Breeder’s care, the Breeder cannot be responsible for environmental or external factors that may affect the kitten’s physical or behavioral health.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • Quality of drinking water (mineral content, contamination, or pH)
  • Type, brand, and formulation of food provided
  • Air quality in the home (ventilation, mold, smoke, chemical exposure)
  • Presence of environmental toxins (radon, mold spores, cleaning agents, pesticides, fertilizers)
  • Introduction to other pets, including risk of exposure to parasites or viruses
  • Presence of children or rough handling
  • Emotional stress or instability in the home (conflict, lifestyle disruptions, moving)
  • Use of non-veterinary or non-approved treatments (over-the-counter dewormers, flea medications, natural supplements, herbal additives, essential oils)
  • Changes to the kitten’s schedule, diet, or environment that may cause stress-induced illness
  • Use of strong scents or fragranced household products (scented candles, diffusers, incense, air fresheners, detergents, fabric softeners, cleaning agents) which may overwhelm a kitten’s sensitive olfactory system, leading to stress behaviors or inappropriate urination
  • Inappropriate indoor temperature or exposure to drafts (too hot, too cold, sudden changes, placement near vents/fans/windows), which may suppress immunity and cause illness

Because these factors are entirely outside the Breeder’s control, the Purchaser understands and agrees that the Breeder cannot be held liable for any health, behavioral, stress-related, or environmental conditions that arise once the kitten has left the cattery.

The Purchaser further agrees that any treatments, medications, supplements, or preventive care administered after transfer are at the Purchaser’s sole discretion and expense, and that the Breeder will not reimburse or be held responsible for any such costs or outcomes.

The Purchaser agrees that the Seller may freely discuss the kitten/cat’s health information and overall well-being with the Purchaser’s veterinarian. In compliance with privacy regulations, the Purchaser agrees to notify his or her veterinarian of this authorization. The Seller assumes no responsibility or liability for the kitten/cat, nor for any damages or expenses arising from the Purchaser’s living situation, veterinary costs, mortality due to negligence, accidents, or allergic reactions to the animal.
