Genotypic and Phenotypic Analysis of Coloration in Oriental and Siamese Cats

From the point of view of genetics, Oriental and Siamese cats distinguish 1 gene – “C” dominant (gene for complete body coloration in Orientals) and recessive “cs” (gene for Siamese color). How do these genes work? In the presence of the “C” gene, the pigment is distributed equally to each hair throughout the cat’s body, […]

A genetic coat color prediction chart for Siamese and Oriental Shorthair cats. It features a grid with rows and columns labeled with genetic combinations (e.g., BB DD, Bb dd). Each cell shows possible coat colors with diamond symbols. The legend explains the symbols: black for Seal Point, brown for Chocolate Point, blue for Blue Point, and purple for Lilac Point. This chart is based on CFA-recognized color points.

Early-age Spaying/Neutering of Cats

Today, nobody disputes the fact that gonadectomy (a surgical procedure by which ovaries or testicles are removed) in animals not intended for breeding is neither a tribute to fashion nor a whim.

Tips for Bringing a New Oriental
or Siamese Kitten Home

Give the kitten space: When you first bring your new kitten home, it's important to give them some space to adjust to their new surroundings. Set up a designated area in your home, such as a spare room or a bathroom, where your kitten can stay for the first few days.

When I discovered the CatAristocrat website, I knew I had to make contact immediately. The site contains valuable information in regards to Olga’s Cattery. What drew me in was Olga’s commitment and passion to her cattery. After contacting Olga, we FaceTimed and that’s when I got to see Jiji (now Zoey) for the first time. Her striking beauty and personality shined through, and I knew that she was the kitten I wanted. Since I live in Southern California, I flew to Ohio to retrieve Zoey. Olga met me at the airport and the process was super easy. Olga is a true professional. She handed me all of Zoeys paperwork, provided a cute carrier with a cozy blanket and Zoeys favorite unicorn toy. There was also some food, a water bowl and snacks for Zoey. You can tell Zoey was raised in such a loving and safe environment. As soon as Zoey came home, she was comfortable with us. Zoey is smart, curious and affectionate. Zoey has provided us with so much laughter and joy. I couldn’t be happier with our tabby kitty. She is the queen of the house now! Thank you so much Olga. I hope that in the near future we can provide Zoey with a sibling!

Olga made the process of getting an Oriental Shorthair so enjoyable and easy for us. She was in frequent communication with me which made me feel informed and comfortable with my purchase. She took all of my questions and concerns seriously and made the process go as smoothly as possible. We received Phoebe after a long flight from Ohio to Oregon and she was immediately purring, exploring, and wanting to play. She is litter box trained as well and has had no accidents! I would come Olga again in a heart beat if I was in need of another kitten. Thanks
